long path to lizzette’s

A singular St Kilda garden where the elegant house is set back 32 metres from the street on a site only 5.5 metres wide.

The entry path, through material detailing and orientation, is designed to stage the passage through the garden, revealing slightly different aspects and ultimately the house as you move deeper into the landscape.

Existing Silver Birches on the eastern boundary and a large Liquidamber adjacent to the house provided structure, and the birches the inspiration for black and white sentinel lighting posts positioned along the path.

The planting is lush and varied, including in the rear courtyard where a parking space is foiled by the paving composition and a ground layer of herbs and groundcovers.
