Andrew Brophy is a landscape architect and garden designer of over 30 years experience. Andrew has a trade background in horticulture and landscape construction and professional qualifications in landscape architecture.
Until April 2025 he worked at Sydney Metro as an Associate Design Director and prior to that as Principal of landscape architecture at HBO+EMTB and as an Associate at both Hassell in Sydney, and Urban Initiatives in Melbourne.
Andrew brings to design a rich knowledge of plants and materials, crafting these to create lively spaces to experience and inhabit.
He has worked successfully as a designer at a range of scales, from the landscaping of city courtyards to large public parks, squares and streets, and the spaces in between. He has undertaken ecological planning for extensive rail and road corridors and maintains an abiding interest in planting design and the potential of urban ecology.
In 2024 he won state and national landscape architecture awards for the ecological restoration program for the Western Sydney Airport rail alignment and in 2026 was appointed to the NSW State Design Review Panel.
