sharing barkly street

A front garden for Michael, Tony, Eugenia, Andrew, Isaac and Lily.

This duplex of houses co-owned by close friends was missing a landscaped threshold between the building and street.

The polychrome slate cladding of the house façade was the starting point for the composition of a playful common garden, front wall and entry sequence.  Primary paths to the separate house entries, as well as less formal pathways step through the textured - mixed native and exotic - planting.

A multi-coloured platform made a stage for Lily and Isaac and the garden is screened from the road by a coastal Tea Tree hedge. This sits behind the stepped coloured wall on the street boundary.
